French City of Lille to send humanitarian aid to Kharkiv The French City of Lille will soon send another humanitarian aid to Kharkiv residents.

This was announced during a press conference by Mayor of Lille, Martine Aubry. She addressed the media, City residents and the public to reaffirm the solidarity of Lille residents with the Ukrainian people and their readiness to continue providing assistance to Kharkiv.

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov also addressed the press conference via video. He spoke about the situation in Kharkiv, emphasized the resilience of Kharkiv residents and their confidence in victory, and thanked the sister City for its continued support.

On February 24, the anniversary of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Lille will host a series of events in support of the Ukrainian people. In particular, a public rally on the Kharkiv Bridge, a photo exhibition ‘Ukraine: Ukrainian artists’ views on their country at war’ and a screening of the film ‘Mariupol. Faith is not lost’.

It should be noted that throughout 2022, Lille has been constantly supporting Kharkiv. In particular, the twin City received many Ukrainians, including Kharkiv residents who evacuated due to massive shelling, and at the call of Martin Aubry, the Lille Charitable Foundation received €215 thousand which helped to send two humanitarian convoys of medicines and essentials to Kharkiv in the summer. In addition, Kharkiv was awarded the status of Honorary Citizen of Lille.
