New alert system tested in Kharkiv A new alert system that will separate alarms for the city and the region was tested today, 4 December, in Kharkiv.

The new system will help reduce the number of alarms in the city and create more comfortable conditions for businesses, including shopping centres, banks and other institutions. For example, if there is a threat to Kupyansk, the alarm will not sound in Kharkiv. This differentiation will help to respond more effectively to real threats.

According to Bohdan Gladkykh, Director of the Emergency Situations Department, the city is now awaiting recommendations from the military and final approval to launch the system.

‘Today we tested the new warning system. It has several power sources, backup communication channels, and voice messages that allow us to specify the type of threat to the city. The test results will be handed over to the military for analysis. We are waiting for approval to separate the alarms and further integrate the system into the territorial and national alert system. Technically, we are fully prepared,’ said Bogdan Gladkikh.

According to him, this is an important step towards improving the security system in Kharkiv, which will allow city residents to live in a more peaceful environment and receive prompt information about military, natural and man-made threats.
